All Hard Drives Go Bad

To try to help our customers understand the importance of backing up their data, we look them in the eye and say “all hard drives go bad”. That usually sinks in. If you have data that is important you need to keep it backed up. Make sure you have a good back up plan, and back up religiously. We recommend a cloud backup as one layer, but also back up to external hard drives. We recommend external hard drives instead of usb flash drives. We think hard drives are more reliable, and don’t get lost or broken easily. The more important your data is, the more ways you should back it up. We strongly recommend having an AUTOMATIC back up system of some sort like Time Machine or others. All hard drives go bad over time. Make sure when yours does, you don’t lose any important data.
